    Better Artillery Warnings

imo the artillery warnings that the commander issues are not enough to convince all the *******es on the map that artillery is indeed going to fall on a specific flag. I am sick of trying to type "arty, left flag" over and over , throw in an occasional "WATCH OUT MORON, ARTILLERY" in any case some moron will ALWAYS run into it. Ex: Last night, playing on sharqi as MEC doing great top three score (i am excited ooohh its gonna DOUBLE cause were winning) anyhow everything going smooth mostly everyone is near the scaffold building about to head for lower spawn point, i decide to arty it because its their last (i am standing with everyone on my team in one pos, the other guys didnt have a commander) anyway "Shot Over" i give out about 10 arty warnings. Here come the hits - 1,2,3,4 TEAMKILL TEAMKILL -- turns out some dumb sonofab1tch in an mi-28 and his buddy flew right into it. two punishes -- no more good score -- end of story. Ok let me get to the point and stop ranting -- I think that when the commander releases a barrage, EVERYONE on your team (not just the people in the vicinity) should be told specifically ON WHICH FLAG it is going to fall AND TO WATCH OUT... anyway thanks for reading my rant. flame on

It needs to shock the player or something...i mean is it that hard to see the flashing RED artillery thing in the mini map... or the Commander sayin arty your area....

Commanders can Right Click on team member on their command interface and send them an artillery warning message.

I agree that it is annoying to be punished for arty teamkills, but often players filter out the minimap if they are intent on capping a flag.

I think, what they should do is in the actual game, not the map, have a big red oval which surrounds tha artty area, you can go in and out of it like normal play, but there is this semi transparent red wall around the artty area, then people would know if they have just passed into an artty area.

haha, yeh, most of the time the person doesn't follow, and what if the people in the artty zone are Lone wolves, that rules out any way of directly contacting them about artty. The main thing for people to realise it an actual Sign infront of them, like a quick ingame pop-up, warning people of artty in their area, or do what i mentioned before, have a semi transparent wall around the artty area. So if you see it, you can avoid passing into the area, or just be plain stupid and ignore the barrier. Then punish the CO for TK, i hate it when that happens.

If you are dropping artillery on an area containing '32' team members I would suggest that you modify your tactics.

hey chief, i meant i have to go over every dot on the map right click on it and tell EVERY SINGLE PERSON that there is artillery somewhere, not drop atrillery on 32 people , wtf are you talking about, and the 15 seconds is the time it actually takes for artillery to reach its destination, by the time i am finished telling EVERYONE that there is artillery it would have already fallen, and some ******* in a heli, who i happened not to warn because i ran out of the 15 seconds is going to FLY INTO IT

The guy in the heli is all right, he can easily get the heli outa there, and quickly. But the poor guys with leg power aren't so lucky.

like a wailing siren over london during WWII? (just for your team of course) but still the location would have to be pinpointed to every member somehow
    that would be nice

    Re: Better Artillery Warnings

An Icon in the center of the screen flashing red may help but unlikely as the Red Skull and Crossbones dont work for Friendly Mines.

A big WARNING shoulda flash across the screen if you ask me though.
